Film Screening in Penang,Malaysia

In my Country

Two people from two totally different worlds meet and bond in a park within a short period of time. Ali, the protagonist of the film who is funny in a very annoying manner, is able to give Jenny a different view and perspective of life. The dynamics of this movie is centred on Jenny's bitterness and how Ali, in his nonchalant ways tries to help Jenny. But Jenny is equally determined not to be helped. This is a subtle reminder to us about the little things in life that how valuable and important sometimes they can be.An independent film made in Luton , England written with humour and latent meaning is a must watch.

Filming at Curry Garden

Filming has its own story as well...

We used to climb a hill to shoot everytime, suffering cold weather almost always. But still we continued our location for almost 3 weeks and now we have managed to finish it almost.
The different weather as usual added to the cinematic effects for the film.

There are so many funny memories about the film but the one really makes me laugh always is this one.
During one of the scenes , I am saying my lines to Louise and I am so much in my character , so engrossed , and then a wicked wind blows hard ......
The boom Mic above on our heads swayed so much and it fell straight on my nose ...It was hillarious...Worst part it was filmed on camera as well..bet Frank laughs at it always....someday possibly will post on blog the clip haha....Should be a winner at "Candid Camera" or "Funny Videos"

Luckily my nose was alright ...Louise's description about the event was interesting as well....
"I did see the mic coming down, it came slowly on him , but before I could even react , it hit him ..!!! LOL !!..

....You wanted it to hit my nose....isnt it Louise?..Hahahaha...

So apart from the hitting of the fruits and snacks,,,the mic also wanted to try his part on me hahaha..
Well in the end it all ended well...no casualties...

Cant wait to watch that clip from Frank ....we should put that in End credits of the film for a laugh .
The above pics from the latest shoot at THE CURRY GARDEN.

Thanks a lot to the support of the management of Curry Garden , Luton on Sunday.

"IN MY COUNTRY" Music by Ray Cheong

This post is for a dear and special friend who is wholeheartedly commited to the music of the film.

The Soundtrack of this film is officially composed by Ray Cheong , a close and dear friend of mine , who I bullied by prank calls in Malaysia..lol !!..

Ray was the winner of the Digi Celebriteen 2006 in Malaysia which did gave him a good network in media and a coolcash prize ( which he never shared among his friends who sent him so many sms and support) lol..

Ray has composed and sang the track himself " Make it Right" for the film along with many of his soundtracks which will be played throughout the film .

A interesting personality , hardcore lover of Indian spicy food even though of his chinses roots.Infact I feel that his secret to his vocals and inspiration is a "tandoori naan with spicy chicken , curry, roti canai , roti bomb etc etc" almost every weekends which he eats non-stop.I really dont wanna mention the quantity here in public ...

Best wishes for all your future projects ( with me especially :) and contests back home in Malaysia.

Goof Luck Bro,,Keep it Rocking!!

THE STORY OF THE SCRIPT ITSELF

This script was infact inspired by my last script "Alibaba and the Forty Sales" which was performed in Malaysia . "Alibaba" ended in a strange and particuliar fashion on stage in Malaysia so I decided to take the character "Ali" abroad all over from India.

His love for his country, his values, his attitude and his "dance" is again brought back to action in "IN MY COUNTRY" from the previous script।

And thats how the story develops, its the same character but now obsessed with the cultural changes around him।He is the usual "lively" , "born to be alive" guy who is ever ready to help people in "distress", the same way he did in "Alibaba and the Forty Sales".
The famous dance sequence in Alibaba was again carried forward in this script to show his usual love of dancing in"IN MY COUNTRY".

The only difference this time is that now he is in a different country with new people and experiences।

So ofcourse the moves also changed lol along with the music !!

But he loves his culture and misses back "HOME".
Thats what Ali and "IN MY COUNTRY" is made all about ....
